As part of the ongoing maintenance & upgrade programme of Britain’s rail network, Network Rail needs to carry out engineering works. Listed below are details of current engineering schemes that affect Central Trains – click on each scheme for further details:

No Central Trains services will operate in the West Midlands on Sunday 18 December 2017.

Due to staff shortages no Central Trains services will operate in the West Midlands. Other Central Trains services operating from Birmingham to the North West, East Midlands and East Anglia are largely unaffected, services that are affected are shown below. more
17/12/17-18/12/17
Engineering work will take place all day between Derby and Matlock on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December 2017. Services between Nottingham and Matlock will operate between Nottingham and Derby. A rail replacement bus service will operate between Derby and Matlock connecting with trains at Derby.

Engineering work will take place between Tamworth High Level and Burton on Trent all day. The 18.57 Norwich – Birmingham New Street will be diverted between Nottingham and Birmingham New Street and will NOT call at Long Eaton, Derby, Burton onTrent or Tamworth High Level.
